Wow. I just saw a new ad on Americablog that completely floored me. The posting was done by John Aravosis. The ad features a brave, apparently very young, woman taking Sarah Palin to task for her extremist abortion views. My description can't even do it justice. The video after the fold...

Brave Young Woman: I was raped, and then I got pregnant. Sarah Palin believes that the government should be able to force me to carry the pregnancy to term. Sarah Palin believes that the government should make that choice, not me. Governor Palin, I didn't have a choice about being raped, but I should have a choice about this.
That had to be tough. God bless her...
The Americablog posting says that the ad recently ran on CNN, and offers some additional insight.
You can help put this ad on TV. Basically, there's a site out there called SaysMe.tv Via the site, you can donate to run specific ads in specific markets, and your name will appear at the end of the ad. It's pretty cool.
Take this into account, along with John McCain's actions at last night's debate. Barack Obama kicked John McCain's ass tonight from pillar to post. Although the debate topics covered a variety of different aspects, it was one exchange in particular that I feel should disqualify John McCain from being seriously considered to be the President of the United States.
Here you see the contrast of the two men vying to be our leader. One is nuanced, searching for common ground in an effort to unify. The other attempts to vilify his opponent's position, going so far as to mock the words of his opponent.
Setting all partisanship aside, who do you think will be the better leader? The topic of abortion has devolved into a cultural cold war, with its very existence owed to the Republicans who bring out the issue every four years in an effort to divide and conquer.
I hope that any one watching the debate tonight took note of this exchange, and Senator McCain's contempt with this very important women's health issue. A little nuance and understanding can go a long way.
